to Hate: The Dodgers-Giants Rivalry,
highlights the storied rivalry between the
Dodgers and Giants from New York to California.
The second,
The Day the World Series Stopped,
revisits the 1989 World Series Earthquake Game
between the Giants and Oakland A’s, which marks
its 20th anniversary on October 17,

Ardell and featuring Arnold Hano, author of
numerous baseball books including A Day in
the Bleachers, and broadcaster Ross Porter,
who announced Los Angeles Dodgers games for 28
seasons between 1977 and 2004. Burbank

Two concurrent
exhibitions: the first, featuring 35 paintings
by Ben Sakoguchi from his Orange Crate Label
Series: The Unauthorized History of Baseball,
will be in the North Entrance display cases. The
second, Viva Cuba Beisbol, a selection of
photographs of Cuban baseball by Byron Motley,
will be in the Humanities Wing display cases.

moving image media to provide new insights into
America’s national pastime and to explore its
