SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2:00-4:00 PM
In conjunction with the exhibition,
Cooperstown, the Baseball Reliquary
presents “The Neighborhoods of Baseball,”
featuring a panel discussion on amateur and
semi-professional baseball in the
Mexican-American, Japanese-American, and
African-American communities of Los Angeles in
the post-World War II era. Richard Santillan
will moderate the discussion and introduce a
screening of his new film containing interviews
with former Mexican American players in East Los
Angeles, in addition to historic photographs and
game footage. The program will conclude with a
book signing for
American Baseball in Los Angeles, by authors
Richard Santillan and Francisco Balderrama.

The Baseball Reliquary presents William Robert
Steele’s Ebbets Field Replica, an exhibition of
Jackie Robinson paintings (including Michael
Guccione’s acclaimed “Jackie Robinson Icon”),
and a display of Negro Leagues memorabilia.
