“Pete Rose For President: Baseball Meets Politics,” an all-star evening of baseball and political comedy, will launch the 2004 Major League Baseball season in hilarious style. All proceeds go to support the Baseball Reliquary, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering an appreciation of American art and culture through the context of baseball history.
            Co-emcees Gary Owens and Jack Riley will umpire a manic montage of performances by a star-studded roster featuring comedians who have distinguished themselves for years in stand-up, television, radio, film, and theater. Included will be Hamilton Camp, John Caponera, Ed Crasnick, Ed Driscoll, Wayne Federman, Andy Kindler, Sue Kolinsky, Steve Landesberg, John Mendoza, Roger “The Peanut Man” Owens, Greg Proops, Ronnie Schell, Thom Sharp, Tom Tully, George Wendt, Paul Willson, and others.
